Excellent monster design. If you're looking to refine it further, look up the Dark Ragne design from PSO2, or head over to Google and start collecting design references. I like what I'm seeing so far, and look forward to where you take your designs!

Thanks! This was definitely reference-light. I used one pic of a scorpion for claw reference, then faked the rest... I'd use a lot more reference if I were to get serious about a monster design for a big production (as you suggest).

Thx! I've actually thought about approaching bitmap animation like this (stylized and diagonal brushstrokes and clear enough values, but with less detail)
